Coders4Africa, the largest network of African software developers, has announced it is set to host its first technology conference in Nigeria.
The goal of the conference is to explore the many opportunities existing in Nigeria’s growing coding and technology space.
The conference will feature exhibitions, development sessions in web, mobile and cloud technology as well as discussions centered on drone technology and blockchain.
“While Silicon Cape and Silicon Savannah has gotten much of the media’s attention, Nigeria is also home to some of the continent’s most innovative ventures including Hotels.ng (accommodation booking), Fashpa (fashion e-commerce), Jobberman (jobs), and Paga (mobile payments),” Coders4Africa stated on its website.
It added, “Nigeria’s 170 million population – and this is the possibility to scale, is attracting startup founders among locals, diaspora and foreigners alike.”
The conference, which is open to all software and app developers, techies, techpreneurs and computer students, will take place at the Abuja campus of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) from November 28 – 29, 2015.
Sponsors and partners of the conference include IBM Cloud, African Technology Foundation, tiphub, Dronecast and a host of others.
Coders4Africa, founded in 2009 and headquartered in the United States, is a full-service software and consulting startup with 1,400 members in the US and across Africa, and specializes in software development for both web and mobile platforms.
