Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has finally been released after a long wait, the phablet was released together with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
and Samsung Pay. As usual, it comes with a stylus – which Samsung says
makes it suitable for productivity tasks. This time around, the phone
has metal edges and a glass back to give it a more “premium” feel.
A button in its camera app activates a “live broadcast” mode, which
streams 1080p high definition video to YouTube and sends invitations to
selected acquaintances.
It supports the ultra-high quality audio (UHQA) format and there is
a new hardware component which causes “less sound distortion” when
files saved in the codec are played. Users can also use bundled software
to “upscale” existing MP3s. It supports Samsung Pay, which works with
both tap-and-go and magnetic stripe payment terminals.
Its specs are: 5.7 inches, 1440 x 2560 pixels, Super AMOLED
capacitive touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 with PayPal
certified Fingerprint sensor. It runs Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop) on
an Exynos 7420 chipset with a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53/Quad-core 2.1
GHz Cortex-A57 processor and Mali-T760MP8 GPU.
It has 4 GB RAM, 32/64/128 GB internal memory options but no memory
card slot. Its rear camera is 16 MP, 5312 x 2988 pixels and has optical
image stabilization, autofocus and LED flash while its front camera is 5
MP, its video recording quality is 2160p.
For connectivity, it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot and Bluetooth v4.2. It supports Wireless charging (Qi/PMA) – market dependent and ANT+. It uses a Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery and is available in Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Silver Titan and White Pearl colours.
