Huawei is now the third largest mobile phone vendor in the world as
contained in new reports by analytics companies. It achieved this in
the second quarter of 2015, beating Microsoft by getting 7 percent
market share. Strategy Analytics company published statistics which show
that the Chinese phone maker became number three while Samsung and
Apple retained their numbers one and two positions respectively.
Director at Strategy Analytics, Ken Hyers said that “Huawei shipped
30.6 million mobile phones and captured a record 7 percent market share
worldwide in Q2 2015. Huawei is rising fast in all regions of the
world, particularly China where its 4G models, such as the Mate7, are
proving wildly popular.
Huawei has finally overtaken Microsoft to become the world’s third largest mobile phone vendor for the first time ever.”
According to the independent research and consulting firm, global
mobile phone shipments rose by a very little margin of 2 percent
annually to reach 435 million units in the second quarter of 2015.
Samsung remains the market leader with 89 million shipments of mobile
phones worldwide capturing 20 percent market share. Apple shipped 47.5
million mobile phones and has 11 percent worldwide market share while
Microsoft dropped to the fourth position with 27.8 million mobile phone
shipments to capture 6 percent market share worldwide in the second
quarter of 2015.
